The steam system improvement project aimed to assess and enhance the brewery’s steam infrastructure for improvements and expansion. The client faced issues with an aging steam generation and distribution system, along with a boiler nearing the end of its useful life. First Key conducted a comprehensive audit of the steam and condensate generation and distribution system, gathering data on production operations. Using this data, First Key developed a steam usage model to determine current and future steam loads, aiding in the proper sizing of a system expansion. A report was delivered that included detailed recommendations on how to improve system performance, efficiency, and equipment life cycle, as well as to enhance overall product quality and production efficiency. The project enabled the client to appropriately size their boiler replacement and improve steam piping efficiency, resulting in cost savings and extended equipment lifespan.
