The Client had spent more than a decade investing in brewery modernization and had already achieved significant gains in efficiency and operational performance. Leadership wanted to build on that foundation by identifying the next generation of opportunities to improve packaging performance, increase production capacity, strengthen quality systems, and further reduce operating costs. To support these objectives, First Key was engaged to benchmark brewery performance against global best practices and identify opportunities to advance toward world-class manufacturing standards.
First Key conducted a comprehensive operational review of packaging operations, fermentation and cellar performance, quality systems, sensory programs, utility consumption, and key operating metrics. Working closely with brewery leadership and technical teams, we analyzed performance data, evaluated operating practices, benchmarked results against leading breweries, and identified targeted opportunities to improve efficiency, capacity, quality, and resource utilization.
The assessment provided the Client with a prioritized improvement strategy focused on:

- 66% reduction in thermal energy consumption, from 236 MJ/hL to 80 MJ/hL
- Achievement of CO₂ self-sufficiency, despite producing more than 30% malt-based beverages
- More than 50% reduction in brewery headcount while maintaining world-class operating standards
- Additional opportunities identified to increase packaging throughput, improve bottling performance, reduce material losses, and expand fermentation capacity
